Field Superintendent

to join our team located in

Traverse City, MI . This individual will be responsible for operating directional drills, performing utility locating, and managing crews in the field. This role is critical in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and with the highest quality.

Monday- Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Responsibilities and Job Duties: Supervise and coordinate daily field operations for underground utility and directional drilling projects. Pre-check all jobs before crew mobilization to verify site readiness, utilities, permits, and safety requirements. Serve as the primary point of communication between upper management and field staff, ensuring clear, accurate, and timely information flow. Operate and oversee the use of directional drilling equipment and support machinery. Perform and guide proper utility locating while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols. Review project plans, specifications, and schedules to ensure accuracy and efficient execution. Lead and mentor field crews, reinforcing safety, performance, and ethical standards. Troubleshoot field issues and implement timely solutions. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Complete daily reports, time tracking, and project documentation. Requirements Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in underground utility construction, with a focus on directional drilling. Proficiency in operating directional drills and locating systems. Proven leadership ability, with a high degree of integrity, accountability, and ability to lead by example. Exceptional communication skills - able to effectively coordinate between management, field crews, and clients. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and utility maps. Experience with fiber optic, water, sewer, or gas utility installation. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with fiber optic, water, sewer, or gas utility installation. Familiarity with local and state utility regulations in Michigan.
