The New Hampshire Veterans Home has a full-time, 1st shift vacancy for an Assistant Director of Nursing.

Summary:

Plans, manages and oversees the development, direction and administrative management of the programs and services of the Resident Care Services in a designated program at the NHVH and assists the Director of Resident Care Services in the supervision of the Resident Care Services Department of the NH Veterans Home.

YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS

Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Master's degree from a recognized college or university with major study in nursing, education, business administration, or one of the social sciences.

Experience: Five years' experience as a registered nurse, at least three years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education at the graduate level.

License/Certification:

1. Registered Nurse license to practice in NH

2. Must be certified by the American Nurses Association in a specialty that is appropriate to the institution or agency in which the vacancy exists

Responsibilities:

Assists in establishing, implementing, and evaluating programs, policies and objectives for the Resident Care department. Plans, directs and supervises the daily operations of the Resident Care Services in a designated program in order to meet established resident care goals and maintain compliance with regulatory agencies. Makes recommendations to the Director of Nursing regarding budget, patient care standards and requirements, personnel management and other policy related decisions. Shares administrative responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Nursing. Hires, trains, and supervises all Resident Care personnel in program oversight, ensuring staffing as established by patient care standards and regulations. Develops, coordinates and administers programs to maintain interdisciplinary approach to resident care. Ensures compliance with established department policies and procedures by maintaining competency in Carrido Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques.
