Lead Systems Engineer - Signal Processing

to join our classified program at the Aurora Campus. As a key member of a dynamic, multidisciplinary development team, you will contribute throughout the entire development life cycle—from initial concept through rigorous design, development, qualification testing, and into deployment and customer support. If you have a solid engineering background and experience in radio frequency (RF) communications, algorithm prototyping, Electronic Warfare (EW) waveform design, and software-defined radios, we would love to hear from you! Responsibilities: Collaborate with systems engineers to establish rigorous requirements traceability and capability definition for signal processing within an iterative development setting. Assist in maintaining the technical baseline related to signal processing. Provide clarification and support regarding requirements and design for systems engineers, software teams, and testing personnel concerning signal processing. Participate in technical discussions with program management and customers related to signal processing. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 8 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in waveform design, modulation theory, and satellite RF link principles, including Doppler effects and link budgets. Experience in signal prototyping and simulation, working with front-end processors, radio transceivers, and communication satellites. Hands-on experience with Matlab or similar software for signal prototyping and simulation. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with antennas used in satellite communications. Experience in signal detection in complex RF environments and with spread spectrum theory and applications. Operations experience with Electronic Warfare systems. Experience in DevOps/DevSecOps within an Agile development framework. Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficient with Agile tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket). Experience with resource modeling methodologies (e.g., Cameo). Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word). The salary range for this role is $101,000 - $203,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
