SUMMARY
The Associate Connection and Care Minister for The Church at West End - Columbia (WEC) is responsible to the church, under the direction of the Groups and Administration Minister for the oversite and coordination of Connection and Care Ministries for WEC. This role is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive assimilation and guest services ministry. The focus of this position is leading the membership assimilation process and overseeing the various guest services teams. Secondarily, this role will help manage and activate congregational care needs with the WEC congregation.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
may include but are not limited to the following: CONNECTION - Guest Services Collaborate with the Guest Services lead volunteer to provide management, recruitment, and training for the Guest Services Ministry Provide oversight for lay-leaders responsible for parking lot, greeters, welcome / check-in, ushers, medical, and safety teams Oversee the first-time guest follow up process, including making contact with first time guests CONNECTION - Membership
Manage the New Membership Orientation Process for the campus, including:
Teach and coordinate Discover Membership Classes for the WEC campus Provide oversight for the administrative operations of the WEC Membership Process
Set the annual schedule for all membership related programing for WEC, including Welcome Receptions, Discover Us, and Discover You classes in coordination with the supervisor Work with the Discover Coordinator to ensure all facets of the membership process are covered CARE
Manage CareLife (individual records of care) for the WEC congregation Update the hospital list and Coordinate Create and maintain a Minister on Call (MOC) schedule / rotation for the WEC ministers OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

GUEST SERVICES :
Lead regular Guest Services meetings to communicate clearly about strategic, tactical, and operational goals
For
MEMBERSHIP :
Manage baptism follow-up and coordination details Oversee Growth Method application for the WEC campus
For
CARE :
Work with the campus administrative assistant and help ensure all details for funerals / celebrations of life are covered and communicated, including coordination of Nurture Team and/or Meal Team Assist as needed with details related to support groups (such as GriefShare, DivorceCare, etc.)
Learn and utilize the various systems and tools identified by Brentwood Baptist Church specifically related to Connection and Care ministry Keep the Groups and Administration Minister updated on team progress and initiatives Participate in staff meetings like monthly Connection Team Meetings, Quarter Staff (Q Staff), Ministry Platform trainings, and other opportunities as directed by the supervisor Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor COMPETENCIES AND TRAITS: In addition to the specific responsibilities required for this role, Brentwood Baptist Church also seeks candidates that possess some general competencies and behavioral traits that enhance the effectiveness of our staff. A personal sense of calling from God to vocational Christian ministry in general and to this particular area of ministry Can identify closely with the mission, values, vision, theology, philosophy and methodology of Brentwood Baptist Church A mature Christian who is demonstrates the Fruit of the Spirit, is growing in their faith and is committed to spiritual disciplines such as Bible reading, prayer The proven ability to identify, equip and lead a team of volunteers Ability to collaborate, cooperate and function well in a team environment Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. Seminary is encouraged Minimum of two (2) years experience is preferred working in the local church or Christian ministry context
