Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, steady, and quality-driven Low Voltage Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who values structure, precision, and pride in consistent, high-quality work —true Craftsmans apply!. The successful candidate will install, terminate, and test fiber optic and structured cabling systems, follow established methods, and ensure every connection is documented, labeled, and verified to spec.
Key Responsibilities
·
Install, terminate, and test fiber optic (SM/MM), Cat6, and low voltage control cabling according to BICSI and NEC standards.
·
Install pathways to support low voltage systems.
·
Perform OTDR testing, power meter verification, and complete all test documentation for each fiber segment.
·
Maintain clean, labeled, and well-organized installations with precise cable routing and professional finish.
·
Interpret and follow construction drawings, riser diagrams, and schematics with minimal supervision.
·
Mount and terminate patch panels, racks, enclosures, and devices using approved labeling conventions.
·
Collaborate with supervisors and peers in a methodical, team-oriented manner.
·
Follow and enforce safety, quality control, and housekeeping standards on all job sites.
·
Provide mentorship to junior team members by demonstrating craftsmanship and patience.

Required Qualifications
·
Minimum 2+ years experience in structured cabling, fiber optics, or low voltage systems.
·
Familiar with TIA/EIA, NEC, and BICSI standards.
·
Proficient with fiber terminations (LC, SC, MPO), OTDRs, and power meters .
·
Strong mechanical and layout skills; understands routing, bend radius, and conduit fill ratios.
·
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally.
·
Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work on lifts.
·
Ability to pass a drug test. We are a drug free workplace.
Qualifications
·
BICSI Installer I/II or Technician Certification .
·
FOA CFOT or manufacturer fiber training.
·
Experience installing access control and CCTV systems .
·
OSHA-10 or OSHA-30.
·
U.S. Federal clearance eligibility .
