Full-time Job Overview: Join our dedicated team as a Behavioral Support Aide, helping students with diverse behavioral needs thrive in an academic environment. This fulfilling role involves collaborating with special education teams, teachers, and school staff to implement effective behavioral strategies and interventions. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct one-on-one or small-group behavioral support to students in both general and special education settings. Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as guided by behavior specialists or classroom teachers. Assist students in developing essential social, emotional, and self-regulation skills using evidence-based practices. Support students during classroom activities, transitions, and daily routines to encourage positive behavior. Accurately collect and record behavioral data to monitor student progress and inform strategies. Utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques, including reinforcement strategies and prompting. Engage in crisis prevention and intervention utilizing de-escalation techniques when necessary. Collaborate with teachers, school psychologists, and parents to foster student success. Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings when required, reporting on behavioral observations. Attend mandatory training sessions on behavior management and data collection. Maintain confidentiality of student information and comply with all regulations. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of paid or volunteer experience in behavior-related services. Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles is an advantage. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain calm and patient in high-stress situations. Must pass a background check and meet district hiring requirements. Valid California Driver's License may be required. Physical Requirements: Ability to exert 10 to 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, or move objects. Capability to work at a desk and participate in meetings. Ability to work indoors and outdoors under varying weather conditions. Capacity to bend, twist, stoop, and reach. Ability to walk over uneven surfaces to assist students.
