School-Based Behavior Support Specialist

Join Our Team of Passionate Behavior Support Specialists! We are actively seeking dedicated Behavior Support Specialists for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year! In this full-time position, you will have the chance to make a significant difference in the lives of students with behavioral needs across K-12 campuses in the Montebello, CA area. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 or small group behavioral support to students facing mild to severe behavioral challenges. Implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) guided by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and school staff. Utilize ABA-aligned strategies and de-escalation techniques to support student engagement and behavior management. Document and track behavioral data, providing observations to the IEP/behavioral support team. Assist students with transitions and routines, providing redirection as necessary throughout the school day. Collaborate effectively with teachers, aides, specialists, and parents to ensure consistent behavioral support. Maintain professionalism and composure while responding to challenging situations. Provide support for toileting, mobility, or other Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as required based on the assignment. Qualifications: At least 6 months of experience working with students who have behavioral, emotional, or developmental needs, preferably in a school environment. Strong understanding of ABA principles, behavior management techniques, and data collection methods. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; relevant college coursework is a plus. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to remain calm and solution-oriented under pressure. Must successfully pass background clearance.
