Principal Linux Platform Engineer

with a strong background in Linux Infrastructure Engineering to join an agile team. The ideal candidate has experience in both traditional infrastructure and emerging DevOps/DevSecOps technologies. You will play a key role in designing and implementing system updates and upgrades, focusing on Linux Server and OS expertise, while collaborating with senior management and customers during Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs). The

will be instrumental in developing and implementing compute, network, and storage systems, improving the design through the integration of new technologies. You will also work on modernizing existing architectures and supporting ongoing operations. Key Responsibilities: Utilize industry best practices to develop and communicate effective infrastructure solutions. Maintain existing systems using Linux-based tools and manage the COTS stack to meet program needs. Train junior engineers to enhance program operations. Integrate platform provisioning tools such as VMware. Oversee the equipment room to ensure allocation and maintenance of all network and storage resources. Ensure consistent versioning of the COTS stack across platforms, working with the team for necessary updates. Travel to customer sites for system updates and deliveries as needed. Required Qualifications: BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Experience with Agile Development Methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe). Proficiency with VMware. Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, Go). Current TS/SCI security clearance required by day one. U.S. citizenship is necessary for clearance eligibility. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Linux LDAP for account creation and role management. Proficiency in Linux Bash scripting for automation and existing script management. Familiarity with modern technologies such as Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, and Rancher. Knowledge of Windows and Windows Server OS. Experience with SAN/NAS design and implementation. Familiarity with Cisco IOS/Fiber Switch. Experience with Cisco Server Hardware/ILO Remote Management and Sun Microsystems Server Management. The salary range for this position is $101,000 - $203,000, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits package may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) match, and more. Please note that this position is based in Aurora, CO, requiring weekly travel to the Colorado Springs facility for on-site responsibilities.
