Site Safety Manager

based in Indiana. This is a key opportunity for a safety professional to join a high-performing project team on a major construction site. The ideal candidate will bring strong construction safety experience, especially within union environments, and a proactive, coaching-focused approach to safety leadership. Responsibilities

Support site leadership in executing the Project Safety Roadmap and Site Safety Plan. Assist with the development and implementation of Safety Pre-Task Planning, Standard Work Instructions, and hazard assessments. Conduct daily safety observations using the SmartTagIt system. Evaluate safety program effectiveness through regular audits and inspections. Assist in work permit development and approval (e.g., confined space, fall protection, ground disturbance). Provide coaching and mentoring on hazard recognition and risk mitigation. Collaborate with project leaders to create corrective action plans and address safety concerns. Compile and submit weekly safety reports and incident data. Deliver jobsite-specific safety orientations and facilitate ongoing safety training. Manage case files for injury/illness events and lead incident investigations. Conduct equipment and tool inspections to ensure safety compliance. Oversee CEI/subcontractor safety compliance and support enforcement of safety standards. Lead toolbox talks, participate in daily crew meetings, and provide feedback on safety culture and engagement. Manage and develop project safety staff, including performance reviews and professional growth plans. Key Qualifications

Familiarity with industry consensus standards such as NFPA, ASTM, and ANSI. Experience working with union labor is highly preferred. Strong ability to work independently with excellent communication and influencing skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Experience & Education

At least 3 years of construction safety experience; electrical safety experience is a strong asset. High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelors Degree in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Construction Management, Business, or Engineering preferred. Certifications required: OSHA 30 (Construction), CPR/First Aid (Trainer preferred); other safety certifications and willingness to obtain BCSP credentials are desirable. Seniority level
