Job Summary
This position is a unique opportunity to be a member of a fast paced, highly skilled, collaborative Design/Mechanical Engineering team. This position actively participates in the design, CAD drafting, along with the development of files required to prototype and manufacture all applicable Parabit products. Duties/Responsibilities Create custom mechanical CAD components Update existing mechanical CAD drawings Create components for our 3-D modeling design tool library, referencing manufacturer's specification using Solidworks Use logic, mathematics, reasoning, experimentation, analysis tools, physics, calculus, and written communication skills to analyze and solve complex mechanical designs Remain current on leading-edge CAD technology, new materials, manufacturing processes and their potential application to our manufacturing facility Maintain file creation and versioning storage specifications Document all daily actions by completing, maintaining, and submitting time-logs by project Research best materials and design approaches for the development of parts/assemblies Develop part/product renderings Use company standard K factors while creating accurate solid models Create CNC files
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities
Five (5) plus years' experience creating CAD drawing of complex assemblies for sheet metal fabrication Capable of performing with a sense of urgency and occasionally changing to a project with increased priority Fundamental knowledge of SOLIDWORKS 2010 and up and OnShape Ability to hand sketch Experience with 3-D printing Ability to work independently, as well as, work in a collaborative group setting Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related Engineering, Design, and programming software
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Five (5) plus years of related job experience
