Hourly: $25- $40/hr.+ per diem and benefits based on skill level / experience
Description of Role
SRI Telecom is seeking experienced Fiber Splicers (Level II or higher) to support projects across the country. This is a 100% travel position working on underground, aerial, and ISP fiber networks in both new builds and maintenance environments. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-focused, and able to work independently or as part of a crew.
Tasks
Perform fiber optic cable splicing, testing, and troubleshooting
Interpret splice plans, read prints, and follow customer specifications
Maintain accurate project documentation including test results and daily logs
Handle and maintain splicing equipment, tools, and safety gear
Ensure adherence to quality standards, timelines, and safety procedures
Coordinate with supervisors, project managers, and onsite contacts
Skills & Qualifications
2-3+ years of fiber splicing experience (required)
Strong knowledge of splicing techniques and test equipment (OTDR, power meter, etc.)
Proficient in reading fiber plans and splicing schematics
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to safety, quality, and deadlines
Willingness to travel nationwide on extended assignments
Requirements
Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a DOT medical card
OSHA 10/30, CPR/First Aid, and Bucket Truck certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain)
High school diploma or GED
