EDS Design Engineer - Global Automotive Manufacturer

Location:

Fully onsite in Palo Alto, CA

Pay:

$65/hour to $68/hour (W2) - Negotiable based on experience, education, and location

A leading Global Automotive Manufacturer is seeking an

EDS Design Engineer

with

4-7 years of experience

and

3DX CAD capabilities

. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing components and systems from concept through part release, ensuring all deliverables meet performance, manufacturability, and quality requirements.

This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the entire

product development process

- from solution development and design feasibility to validation, sourcing, and launch support.

Key Responsibilities: Design and develop wiring harnesses, connectors, and related components using

3DX CAD

. Execute

system-level integration

of electrical architecture, low-voltage energy management, and packaging feasibility. Perform

GD&T and dimensional variation analysis

to validate design intent and fit. Collaborate with systems, software, and body engineering teams to ensure interface and assembly feasibility. Support validation through

CAE, physical testing, and analytical methods

. Manage

PLM (BOM), timing, and sourcing documentation

(RFQs, vendor tooling, prototype parts, etc.). Support

DFMEA, DVPR, and control plan documentation

to ensure robust quality. Participate in design reviews and resolve electrical issues throughout development builds. Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automotive Engineering. 4 - 7 years of experience in

automotive EDS design and integration

. Proficiency in

3DX/ CATIA V6

, GD&T, and electrical CAD tools. We are open to working with candidates who are eligible to work in the US with sponsorhip.
