ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a top-notch Controller to join our finance and accounting team and support our growing business. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will oversee the full accounting cycle, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and best-in-class financial processes. ABOUT THE ROLE
Accounting: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including the general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll, and expense management. Implement and manage robust account reconciliations. Lead the month-end and year-end close processes with speed and accuracy.
Revenue and Cost of Revenue Recognition: Support and oversee month-end revenue and cost of revenue recognition and associated reconciliations.
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Prepare reporting for the CFO, leadership team, and Board of Directors.
Internal Controls: Design, implement, and oversee robust internal controls, policies and procedures. Ensure data integrity in the accounting environment and its related systems. Support readiness for audits and due diligence processes.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including timely and accurate preparation of tax filings. Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel as necessary.
Operational Leadership: Proactively identify and support process improvement initiatives to achieve more efficient and controlled processes in line with industry best practices.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with CFO and leadership team to develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analyses and recommendations.
Team Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, supporting their professional growth and development.
Other Responsibilities: Develop models and perform analyses to support pricing strategies, campaign profitability, and client margin analysis.
ABOUT YOU
Our ideal candidate is proactive, curious, and an analytical thinker.
Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
CPA designation is required.
Minimum 5 years of experience in progressive accounting leadership roles, including 2+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role, preferably in an advertising agency or related industry.
Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, technical accounting, tax compliance, and operational accounting.
Strong working knowledge of NetSuite and a systems mindset.
Proficient in both Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to independently prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
