About the Role
We're looking for a
Buyer / Planner
who thrives on organization, precision, and collaboration. In this role, you'll help keep production running smoothly by managing procurement, forecasting material needs, and maintaining the right balance between inventory efficiency and availability.
You'll work closely with suppliers and internal teams to make sure materials arrive on time, at the right cost, and in line with quality expectations. If you enjoy solving logistical challenges, building strong vendor relationships, and contributing to the success of a growing technology-driven company, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
Purchasing & Supplier Management Create and manage purchase orders based on internal requisitions. Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure reliability and responsiveness. Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to delivery, quality, or cost. Resolve invoice or billing discrepancies in coordination with vendors and Finance. Maintain accurate supplier records, pricing data, and purchasing documentation. Communicate with engineering and production teams to clarify technical or specification requirements. Planning & Inventory Control
Monitor inventory levels to ensure material availability while minimizing excess stock. Analyze demand forecasts and align procurement plans with production schedules. Maintain planning parameters such as safety stock, lead times, and order quantities. Update ERP/MRP systems and spreadsheets to track material status, shortages, and overages. Develop and maintain inventory control strategies that align with service level goals and cost targets. Collaborate with Operations and Finance on demand planning, cash flow alignment, and order timing. Ensure 100% system data accuracy and continuously refine planning processes for efficiency. Process Improvement & Reporting
Identify cost-saving and process-improvement opportunities in purchasing and planning. Contribute to the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) for supplier performance, on-time delivery, and inventory accuracy. Recommend reporting enhancements and data tools to improve decision-making and visibility. Support ERP and supply chain system optimization efforts. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Production to ensure materials meet schedule requirements. Communicate ETAs, shipment updates, and inventory levels to internal stakeholders. Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, and Logistics to align procurement timing with customer delivery needs. What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or related field (preferred). 3+ years of experience in purchasing, planning, or inventory management. Strong understanding of procurement and vendor management principles. Hands-on experience with ERP, MRP, or other supply chain planning systems (ERP implementation experience a plus). Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that values accuracy and efficiency. Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and data accuracy. Why You'll Love This Role
