Overview:

A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support enterprise-level infrastructure initiatives. This role focuses on planning, implementing, and maintaining server and workstation systems to ensure optimal performance and alignment with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Define infrastructure goals for servers, workstations, and applications in alignment with broader IT strategies. Partner with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure systems support business processes and application reliability. Conduct performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as needed. Lead high-complexity projects and serve as the escalation point for advanced technical issues. Provide technical planning and guidance across user support, IT services, and network operations. Design and deploy server-based hardware/software with minimal disruption to network availability. Develop specifications for operational and administrative functions of network servers and workstations. Ensure all systems comply with internal policies and procedural standards. Maintain hardware/software systems at peak performance levels, as defined by vendor specifications and organizational requirements. Collaboration & Decision-Making:

Operates under general guidance, executing non-routine tasks in dynamic conditions. Coordinates and leads peers in shared technical efforts (non-supervisory). Interfaces directly with internal and external clients, including senior leadership. May require travel to off-site locations; a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of liability insurance are mandatory. Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 5 years in IT infrastructure roles, including 3 years supporting large-scale server and workstation environments. Expertise in server and virtualization technologies. Proven experience in data center operations and infrastructure design. Familiarity with storage systems, backup/recovery platforms, and cloud-based environments. Strong understanding of systems architecture and emerging technologies. Working knowledge of network protocols and virtual desktop platforms (Citrix or VMware). Advanced proficiency in Windows and Linux systems administration, including tools such as Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, Certificate Authority, ADFS, and Azure. Capable of thriving in high-pressure, collaborative environments. Strong documentation and communication skills. Technical Proficiencies:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux: system hardening, performance tuning, patching VMware vSphere and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Ansible for automation and configuration management Git/GitHub for version control and team collaboration PowerShell scripting for Windows and cross-platform automation YAML and infrastructure-as-code methodologies Bash/shell scripting for Linux automation Education & Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred. Candidates with 10+ years of enterprise-level experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
