Senior Accountant (Manager Track)

Position Overview Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated
Senior Accountant
to join their growing finance team. This role is ideal for a results-driven accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is ready to take on a management-track position. The Senior Accountant will handle complex financial reporting, oversee month-end close processes, and contribute to continuous improvements across the accounting function. The right candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, leadership potential, and the ambition to advance into a management role.
Key Responsibilities Lead and execute the month-end close process for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare and review consolidated and stand-alone financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals for assigned entities.
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, project management, and finance teams to ensure data integrity and alignment.
Support external audits, providing schedules, documentation, and explanations as needed.
Analyze financial results, identify trends or discrepancies, and present findings to senior management.
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and professional development.
Assist with the implementation of process improvements and system enhancements to optimize reporting and workflow.
Maintain compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Participate in ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required;
CPA
or
CMA
designation preferred.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience; combination of
public accounting (regional or national firm)
and
corporate accounting
strongly preferred.
Experience with
real estate, construction, or related industries
a plus, but not required.
Demonstrated success managing complex financials across multiple entities.
Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Prior
supervisory or team lead experience
required.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Advanced proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
and experience with
ERP systems
(such as Sage 300, Yardi, or similar).
Career Path This position is designed as a
