Job Summary:

Client, designs and manufactures RF Absorbing Materials, Electrically Conductive Elastomers, and Maxair vent panels serving the Aerospace, Automotive, and Defense industries. The facility features state-of-the-art testing, engineering, and materials research capabilities, enabling the creation of advanced electromagnetic solutions.

The Composites Technician will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing composite components used in high-performance and defense-related applications. This role requires precision, strong technical skills, and strict adherence to process controls.

Key Responsibilities: Perform prepreg layups according to detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications. Prepare molds, tooling, and work surfaces for composite layup, ensuring cleanliness and proper release application. Accurately measure, mix, and apply resins, hardeners, and other materials within defined process parameters. Set up and operate vacuum bagging equipment, ensuring proper pressure, sealing, and leak detection before cure. Trim, drill, and finish composite parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Seal, prime, and paint composite parts with high-quality finishes. Conduct in-process and final inspections to verify conformance to specifications. Safely operate autoclaves and ovens. Lead a team of technicians to ensure timely and accurate production in accordance with customer requirements. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment following all safety and environmental standards. Document all work performed, including material traceability, process steps, and quality control records. Required Skills

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in composites manufacturing preferred. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with prepreg, wet layup, and vacuum resin infusion techniques. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and process documentation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and under minimal supervision. Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work respectfully in a diverse team environment. Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with aerospace and defense manufacturing standards (AS9100, NADCAP). Process improvement experience (Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred). Experience with composite repair techniques. Knowledge of autoclave and oven cure processes. Proficiency using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges). Prior experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
