Edsal was founded and operated as a family-owned and operated business on Chicago's South Side for over 60 years before being acquired by Monomoy Capital Partners in 2018. About the Role Edsal Manufacturing is seeking a
Senior HR Generalist
to support our manufacturing plant operations. This role is critical in driving HR initiatives, policies, and processes that foster a safe, positive, and productive workplace.
The
Senior HR Generalist
will serve as a trusted advisor to plant leadership and employees, supporting talent acquisition, employee relations, training, compliance, and safety programs. What You'll Do Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Lead recruitment efforts, including postings, interviews, and hiring decisions. Partner with department leaders to identify staffing needs and attract top talent. Oversee onboarding to ensure smooth integration for new hires. Employee Relations
Serve as a primary contact for employee questions, concerns, and grievances. Conduct investigations into complaints or misconduct and recommend resolutions. Support a positive culture through communication, recognition, and conflict resolution. Performance Management
Support performance appraisal processes and goal-setting discussions. Analyze performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Training & Development
Coordinate and deliver training programs to enhance skills and performance. Identify training needs and measure the effectiveness of programs. HR Compliance & Policies
Ensure compliance with employment laws (ADA, FMLA, FLSA, etc.). Recommend updates to HR policies and procedures. Partner with leadership to ensure consistency and fairness in application. HR Administration
Manage HRIS and employee records with accuracy and confidentiality. Prepare HR metrics and reports to support data-driven decisions. Assist with payroll and benefits administration as needed. Safety
Support Site Lead with investigations, orientation, record keeping, and data entry as needed. What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. (SHRM-CP or PHR preferred). 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in manufacturing or industrial settings. Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations. Proven experience in recruiting, employee relations, performance management, and training. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills. Proficiency with HRIS and MS Office applications. Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion. Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment This position is office-based, requiring frequent interaction with both office staff and employees on the manufacturing floor. The role may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when working in designated plant areas.
