Civil/Structural Engineer
based in Norton, MA. This position supports the continued expansion of their in-house engineering team, with involvement in design, review, and field coordination of foundation, structural, and civil systems for solar and substation projects across the country. The role offers long-term career growth as part of a developing discipline within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Support the design and production of civil and structural drawings for renewable energy and substation projects.
Conduct load analysis (dead, live, wind, and seismic) and design structural elements such as beams, columns, slabs, and foundations.
Prepare and review calculations and reports related to grading, drainage, erosion control, stormwater management, and cut/fill volumes.
Review vendor designs and documentation, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and project specifications.
Coordinate closely with internal engineering, estimating, and field teams to ensure constructability and cost-effective designs.
Participate in value engineering, proposal preparation, and preconstruction support including quantity takeoffs and cost estimating.
Provide field support through site visits to confirm installation accuracy and adherence to design intent.
Contribute to ongoing development of civil and structural engineering standards, processes, and best practices.
Qualifications and Must-Haves
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
2 to 4 years of experience in civil or structural design for electrical utility, renewable energy, or heavy industrial projects (open to strong recent graduates).
Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (NEC, IEC, UL, local permitting requirements).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe software; familiarity with Bluebeam, MicroStation, Procore, Revit, or PVSyst is a plus.
OSHA safety training preferred.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to interface effectively with multiple disciplines.
Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits and field coordination.

$85,000.00 to $125,000.00 per year
