As an

Elementary School Counselor , your primary responsibility will be to support students through individual and group counseling, collaborating with educators, parents, and other professionals to foster a safe and healthy learning environment. Here’s what your role will entail: Conducting individual and group counseling sessions to address interpersonal or family issues affecting school performance. Gathering information through interviews with students, families, and school staff to assess social, emotional, and behavioral adjustment. Maintaining communication with parents/guardians to update them on student progress and any challenges that may arise at home. Developing and updating Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and Positive Behavior Intervention Plans (PBIP) while adhering to relevant regulations. Participating in IEP meetings and collaborating with team members to effectively address student and parent concerns. Working with education and social services professionals to provide appropriate services for students and families. Coordinating case management functions, including meetings with parents and managing services from outside therapists. Collaborating with teachers and other stakeholders to devise solutions for learning and behavior challenges. Conducting classroom observations to support staff in implementing IEP goals and Positive Behavior Intervention Plans. Assisting teachers in developing schedules and transition plans that align with student needs. Regularly reviewing student academic progress and providing guidance to classroom staff as needed. Serving as a role model for students and staff, emphasizing a data-driven, positive approach to education. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in educational counseling, therapy, social work, or a related field. Licensed or in the process of obtaining one or more of the following credentials: LMFT, LMHC, LPC, LPCC, LEP, NCSC, LCSW, LMSW, DCSW, LCSW-R, C-SSWS. Other state credentials for school-based counseling may be considered. Preferred: Special education credential and knowledge of compliance for students with autism and emotional disturbances. Experience in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and knowledge of classroom management strategies. Proven success in creating and implementing treatment plans for diverse needs. Strong communication, decision-making, and organizational skills. Technology proficiency, including Microsoft Office and database management. About Us: Spectrum Center Schools
