SUMMARY
Manages the QEs and quality system during pre-production development. Verifies all quality standards and documentation are created during pre-production development. Responsible for communications with customer and supplier quality representatives during pre-production development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages pre-production quality engineers.
Manages part quality of all pre-production trial shipments.
Manages investigations of pre-production quality non conformances.
Manages customer specific quality documentation per required deadlines.
Manages quality system standards and documentation are developed per customer and TS 16949 requirements.
Responsible for customer part approvals and approvals of supplied parts.
Report project quality progress status.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages quality engineers in the Quality Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous direct experience with OEM's is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory. Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
