SUMMARY
The Quality Manager is responsible for managing the quality function ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards. This role provides leadership and direction to Quality Engineers, quality control supervisors, and inspectors. Maintains the Quality Management System (QMS), and drives continuous improvement initiatives to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Manage the quality function for the plant, providing work direction for quality control supervisors and inspectors. Establish, maintain, and continually improve the QMS in alignment with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements. Monitor and maintain the quality control system for the facility; verify processes to prevent fallout to the next customer. Execute testing requirements, maintain documentation and records, and ensure proper document control. Interact regularly with production management and engineering to establish firm prevention for recurrence of issues. React promptly to customer concerns, ensure containment actions, and maintain strong customer satisfaction. Maintain, communicate, and follow up on visual controls related to quality issues. Provide training and coaching to support quality initiatives and compliance. Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers. Lead root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence of nonconformities. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure adherence to quality standards and conduct supplier audits as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise employees in the Safety Systems QC. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Also directly supervises engineering employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Proficiency in statistical analysis and interpretation of SPC data. Ability to calculate percentages, ratios, and apply basic algebra for process control.
REASONING ABILITY
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret technical standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Capable of making sound decisions under pressure and resolving complex quality issues.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
