The Opportunity:
A VoIP engineer designs, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots voice communication systems that use the internet protocol to transmit voice data, ensuring reliable and efficient communication for a company.
Responsibilities:
Design, configure, and deploy Cisco Collaboration solutions, including Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Unity Connection, and Cisco IM & Presence
Develop and implement VoIP network architectures that meet DoD and Navy standards
Integrate VoIP systems with existing network infrastructure and ensure interoperability with other communication systems
Perform regular maintenance, updates, and patches to VoIP systems to ensure optimal performance and security
Troubleshoot and resolve VoIP-related issues, including call quality, connectivity, and configuration problems
Provide technical support and training to end-users and IT staff on VoIP systems and features
Ensure Collaboration systems comply with DoD security protocols and Navy-specific communication requirements
Implement and maintain security measures, including encryption, access controls, and monitoring, to protect Collaboration communications
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities
Create and maintain detailed documentation of Collaboration system configurations, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures
Generate reports on Collaboration system performance, usage, and security incidents
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of VoIP systems
Qualifications:
Required:
US Citizenship and an active Secret clearance
High School Diploma or equivalent
5+ years of experience in VoIP engineering, with a focus on Cisco voice technologies
Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining Cisco VoIP solutions
In-depth knowledge/experience of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Unity Connection, Cisco IM & Presence, and related technologies
Strong understanding of VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323, MGCP) and network protocols (TCP/IP, QoS)
Familiarity with DoD security protocols and Navy-specific communication requirements
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desired:
Experience working in a DoD or Navy environment is highly preferred
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Up to 25% travel or as needed.

Pay Range
: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
