What Success Looks Like In This Job

This position performs entry-level analytical work to support the Assessor’s Office. Under general supervision, the position provides administrative, program, and project support to the Assessor’s Office in areas related to data entry and review, record maintenance, report preparation, maintaining appraisal and administrative records, and supporting compliance with statutory requirements to ensure accuracy. The position also assists the Assessor Analyst II in providing general support for software updates and training in coordination with IT and the software vendor(s).

Examples of Duties for Success

Assist with data entry, validation, and correction to maintain accurate appraisal and administrative records.

Support Assessor Analyst II with CAMA software updates, system backups, and basic troubleshooting in coordination with IT and vendors.

Generate standard queries and reports to support appraisal and administrative operations.

Help prepare and mail statutory notices (NOVs, NODs) and maintain related tracking systems.

Assist in the preparation of state-mandated reports, audits, and compliance documentation.

Assist in maintaining appraisal activity reports such as building permits, new construction, sales transactions, and subdivisions.

Participate in training, mentoring, and hands-on projects to learn property assessment systems and processes.

Participate in data quality review, statistical analysis, and reporting methods under supervision.

Collaborate with senior staff to resolve routine technical issues and support property assessment workflows.

Perform other related duties as assigned to support operational needs and professional development.

Qualifications for Success

Knowledge of basic database management, data entry, and quality control practices.

Basic database management principles, including data entry, query execution, and quality control.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and standard office systems.

Familiarity with statistical analysis and reporting methods.

Ability to learn and apply technical concepts related to appraisal systems, data analysis, and statutory reporting.

Skill in accurately entering, validating, and updating data across multiple systems.

Ability to perform routine troubleshooting and seek assistance when needed.

Effective written and verbal communication with staff, vendors, and the public.

Ability to organize tasks, manage time, and adapt to changing priorities while meeting deadlines.

Capacity to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience:

Three (3) years of experience in data management, database operations, statistical analysis, or a closely related field is required.

Education & Training:

High school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized training in computer-based information systems.

·A bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a closely related field is preferred and may substitute 2 years’ required professional experience.

License or Certificate:None

Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check.
