We’re seeking a
Partner, Commercial Disputes
to join our Forensic, Valuation & Litigation Support (FVLS) team in the Chicago metro area. If you’re ready to advise on
high-stakes disputes and damages matters
while growing a national practice, we’d love to connect.
What You’ll Do As a leader at the firm, you will spearhead the expansion of DLA’s FVLS practice through practice building, client development, and expert leadership. Your day-to-day may include:
Leading multiple engagements in
commercial litigation support , including forensic accounting,
economic damages analysis, financial modeling , and expert witness consulting.
Providing expert opinions on
breach of contract, shareholder disputes, intellectual property disputes, post-M&A disputes, and fraud investigations .
Delivering clear, persuasive
expert witness testimony and damages reports
in arbitration and trial settings.
Building relationships with attorneys, corporations, and government agencies to generate new opportunities and expand the FVLS practice.
Guiding and mentoring engagement teams to deliver high-quality work while developing the next generation of forensic consultants.
Collaborating with law firms, corporate stakeholders, and internal specialists to deliver practical, defensible solutions.
Staying current on litigation consulting trends to keep DLA at the forefront of
forensic accounting and damages consulting .
What You’ll Bring We know great team members come from all kinds of backgrounds. Some things we typically look for:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
15+ years of experience in
commercial disputes, damages consulting, and litigation support .
Proven track record in
economic damages quantification, financial analysis, and expert witness testimony .
CPA, CVA, ABV, ASA, CFA, CFE, or CFF (preferred).
Experience building and leading client relationships, with a history of business development success.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams of consultants and analysts.
Ability to clearly explain complex
damages and financial concepts
to non-financial stakeholders.
Entrepreneurial mindset to grow service offerings and expand practice areas.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel expertise a must; QuickBooks/Quicken a plus).
