The

Property Accountant

is responsible for overseeing the full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties. This includes preparing monthly financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank accounts, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities within deadlines. Key Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle accounting for assigned properties, including journal entries, accruals, and general ledger maintenance. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Review and reconcile bank accounts, tenant ledgers, and balance sheet accounts. Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring invoices and tenant payments are recorded accurately and timely. Review lease agreements to ensure proper accounting of rent schedules, escalations, and recoveries. Prepare and analyze monthly variance reports comparing actual results to budgets. Assist with annual budgets, audits, and property tax filings. Communicate with property managers, asset managers, and vendors to resolve accounting discrepancies. Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation for all assigned properties. Support process improvements and automation initiatives within the accounting department. Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management. Solid understanding of GAAP and accrual-based accounting. Strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with property management/accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, or RealPage). Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple properties and meet tight deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
