About the Job DataSoft Technologies, Inc. is seeking a SAP Technical Programmer/Business Specialist to join our client in Greenville, SC. The candidate will manage the full systems development life cycle of projects/programs within their area of responsibility, coordinate and lead the technical/functional development and support of SAP IT applications in their area including Warehouse Management, Yard Management, Quality Management, Plant Maintenance, and/or Inbound Logistics. They will plan, design, develop and implement efficient IT systems in support of assigned organizational functions, and apply strong communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify, communicate and resolve system issues to maximize IT benefits.
Projects:
SAP modules such as WM (Warehouse Management), Goods Receiving, EWM (Extended Warehouse Management), Yard Management (YM), IM (Inventory Management). This role will involve cross‑functional projects with various departments; the candidate may manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Typical Day Using the SAP R/3 environment, the candidate will meet with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate requirements into configuration specifications, perform configuration, documentation, testing, and support other team members and stakeholders. They will investigate problem issues for existing processes or newly implemented processes, work on project‑based initiatives, day‑to‑day maintenance or small business requests, and provide operational support and troubleshooting. The team operates in a self‑sufficient, collaborative environment with weekly meetings and daily stand‑offs in an Agile setting.
Responsibilities
Plan, analyze, design, define requirements, develop, test, and implement IT solutions.
Provide support for complex system environments.
Provide user assistance and training.
Coordinate activities simultaneously across multiple projects.
Use ITPM Agile methodology effectively for all tasks.
Meet with decision makers, system owners, and end users to define business requirements, system goals, and resolve business system issues.
Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in‑house computing systems.
Review and analyze existing system effectiveness and efficiency, and develop improvement strategies.
Create system models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to guide application developers.
Coordinate and conduct in‑depth tests, including end‑user reviews, for modified and new systems.
Conduct research on software products to justify recommendations and support purchasing efforts.
Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications
BA or BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or equivalent 4 years of experience in an IT application or infrastructure profession.
Must have:
Strong ABAP R/3 WM (Warehouse Management), Goods Receiving, EWM (Extended Warehouse Management), Yard Management (YM), IM (Inventory Management), and general reporting.
Great communication and documentation skills.
Ability to conduct meetings with stakeholders, gather business requirements and create development specifications.
Ability to manage issue/problem topics in the area of expertise.
5+ years of programming experience in ABAP/4, SAP UI5/Fiori, SAP BI/BW, Data Warehouses, C++, JAVA, HTML, JSP, J2EE, SQL, Oracle, UNIX/Linux, XSLT.
5+ years of experience planning, analyzing, designing, testing, implementing, documenting and training in SAP areas, preferably Warehouse, Yard Management and/or Inbound Logistics.
5+ years of project management experience.
5+ years of experience working in a customer‑service oriented environment.
5+ years of experience working in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment.
5+ years of functional knowledge of SAP R/3 related modules or production systems.
5+ years of experience executing and communicating project plans.
5+ years of knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle.
5+ years of knowledge of IT infrastructure components – Operating Systems, Networks, Databases, Internet Technologies, etc.
3+ years of experience communicating ideas in both technical and user‑friendly language.
Basic knowledge of cost and budget control.
Project Management training (preferred).
Nice to have:
SAP FIORI, UI5, Cloud concepts, Data Analytics, KAFKA, XRAY (testing tool), SAP CALM, data exchange understanding (EDI).
