The Role The position will support plant maintenance and building construction. Responsibilities include drafting blueprints, supervising construction projects, ensuring compliance with legal and environmental regulations, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of various structures and infrastructure. The role coordinates with consultants, contractors and local enforcement agencies to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Specific To This Position The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of civil engineering principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team. This includes developing structural engineering specifications, modelling, and design analysis using CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer and related software.
Must Have
Bachelor’s Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience;
Master’s Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience;
Ph.D. and 4 years of relevant experience;
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
