Marriott Springfield Downtown - Catering Sales Manager OEM Location: Springfield, Massachusetts

Salary:

$60,000.00/yr - $65,000.00/yr

Base pay range is provided by Aimbridge Hospitality. Your actual pay will be based on skills and experience.

Responsibilities

Effectively attain assigned sales and revenue goals, and solicitation call goals.

Proactively conduct solicitation calls, sales tours, and entertain clients specific to Social, Corporate, Business, or SMERF.

Grow existing relationships with assigned accounts for Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel, and/or Groups.

Monitor and evaluate trends within your market segment.

Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, service‑oriented manner.

Adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality’s regulations, company standards, catering/meeting standards and related sales metrics.

Develop full working knowledge of operations and policies of the hotel and applicable departments.

Ensure timely generation and accuracy of Daily Event List, Banquet Event Order/Guarantee Sheet and Ten‑Day Event Schedule.

Maintain strong visibility in local community and industry organizations.

Assist in implementing and/or participating in special promotions such as sales blitzes.

Attend daily/weekly/monthly meetings and any other functions required by management.

Perform any other duties as requested by the General Manager or Director of Sales.

Access back‑of‑house areas of the hotel and sensitive information responsibly.

Interact and occasionally have unsupervised contact with guests and/or colleagues.

Control sensitive areas, master keys, guestrooms, storage/liquor rooms, and secured file cabinets.

Drive safely on behalf of the company for business reasons.

Maintain a high level of trust, responsibility, and represent the company with good character.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent (required); previous catering sales experience preferred.

Demonstrated creativity and knowledge of food and beverage.

Valid driver’s license for the applicable state.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to negotiate, convince, sell, and influence managerial personnel, guests, and corporate clients.

Professional selling skills: opening, probing, supporting, closing.

Proficiency with general computer knowledge, especially Microsoft Office.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks; strong organization and presentation skills.
