A government-affiliated organization focused on community development and infrastructure projects is seeking a Construction Attorney in FL. This role provides comprehensive legal counsel and oversight for contracts, permits, and regulatory compliance across multiple departments, including real estate, construction management, planning, and public works.
Base pay range: $175,000.00/yr - $225,000.00/yr.
Job Function
Provide legal guidance and support to the organization’s executive leadership on matters related to construction, real estate, and infrastructure development.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, permits, and intergovernmental agreements to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
Advise on land use, zoning, and permitting issues, ensuring adherence to applicable laws, codes, and funding requirements.
Collaborate with department directors and the Legal Department to identify legal risks, develop compliance strategies, and implement policies that promote efficiency and mitigate liability.
Oversee legal aspects of lease agreements, service line agreements, commercial construction contracts, and utility permitting.
Ensure consistent legal and regulatory compliance across departments such as Real Estate, Construction Management, Planning, and Public Works.
Serve as the primary liaison between the organization’s departments and the Legal Department for construction and development-related legal matters.
Job Requirements
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in construction, real estate development, tribal law, or public infrastructure projects.
Active membership in the Florida Bar Association and eligibility to practice law in Florida.
Prior experience as a Real Estate Attorney is preferred.
Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license.
Proficiency with technological devices and software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
