Shift: 2nd Shift M‑F 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm, 30‑minute unpaid lunch, 5% shift premium.

40‑hour work week with certain weekend coverage.

Pay Range: $26.25–$33.16 per hour based on skills/experience.

Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, Bodycote deems this position to be safety‑sensitive. Position Summary Based in Santa Fe Springs, CA, the Foreman will perform essential job functions related to heat treatment under the direction of the Plant Manager to meet customer specifications, including assisting other employees as needed.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

Leads and assigns work activities of employees in assigned work areas.

Trains and leads the activities of production employees, maintaining effective communication of customer needs/requirements and company goals.

Keeps close track of work in progress and regularly confers with other foremen, supervisors, and management staff.

Independently operates, controls, and monitors heat treating equipment as needed/required.

Promotes and sets examples for safety and good housekeeping practices.

Must work in a manner consistent with the EMS.

Responsible for the care and treatment of customer inventory, preventing loss or damage.

Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.

Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co‑workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.

Qualifications

Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident cardholders.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum six years of experience in the heat treating industry.

Effective oversight of heat treaters and/or other employees, using leadership qualities such as listening, observation, patience, objectivity, and responsiveness.

Advanced knowledge of heat treating, testing, and commercial/aircraft/aerospace materials.

Working knowledge of metallurgy, temperatures, etc.

Work may require overtime or any shift, including weekends.

Must obtain and maintain forklift operator certification.

Must demonstrate ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co‑workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.

Knowledge and hands‑on experience of computer applications, including Microsoft Office and databases.

Physical & Mental Demands

Ability to work in standing position for extended periods in an industrial environment.

Manual dexterity required for data entry functions.

Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach.

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, humidity, etc.

Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.

Must communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.

Ability to hear in person and via phone.
