Human Resources Intern (Summer 2026)

This internship will provide support to CSM’s Human Resources team, with a focus on various HR initiatives. These initiatives include employee engagement, HR compliance, supporting the intern program execution, and other HR related projects.
The intern will gain an understanding of how HR impacts various aspects of the employee lifecycle in the property management and hospitality industries. The learning process will incorporate a combination of hands-on experience, mentoring and supervision from the Director of Development & Engagement and Manager of Talent Acquisition as well as practical assignments. By the end of the internship, the intern will have a broad understanding of Human Resource compliance, employee engagement, internal communications and gained exposure to a variety of different tools and methods used to support employees from all business lines.
INTERNSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee Engagement
Assists with employee development and engagement initiatives, including creating and writing content for various CSM communication tools, and planning and executing communications. Helps organize and execute employee related events. Collaborates with the HR team to deliver on employee recognition and anniversary programs. Engages with members of the HR team, other interns and corporate office employees to build relationships and a professional network. Supports the HR team with other ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed. HR Compliance
Assist with auditing personnel files to ensure required documents (e.g., I-9s, signed policies, training certificates) are properly stored and up to date. Help review, update, or format HR policies to ensure they reflect current legal and company standards. Assist in tracking employee acknowledgments of various policies. Track completion of compliance related training Hel conduct internal audits of HR processes. Intern Program Execution:
Plan internship outings in partnership with other interns and intern managers Provide logistical and hands-on support for employee engagement events that the Corporate Office Act as a liaison between the interns and the Talent Acquisition Manager ensuring timely and clear communication REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
Must have completed at least two years of college, preferably working towards a Degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Education or a related field.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Possesses a strong sense of personal responsibility for work outcomes. Demonstrates organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy. Exhibits a solid work ethic and sees projects through to completion. Displays strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates excellent computer skills (especially with Microsoft Excel). Must be flexible and take initiative. Maintains confidentiality of company information. Possesses a basic understanding of process improvement and a willingness to explore new ideas.
