The Baillie Group is looking to add an experienced

System Engineer

to our team at our Owego, NY facility. The primary goal of this position is to ensure the smooth operation of the organization's voice, video and data network to provide maximum performance and availability for users.

The

System Engineer

is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining and supporting all areas of the Network infrastructure including systems administration, network security, Data communications, hosted cloud environments, training and process improvement.

System Engineer Responsibilities: Responsible for managing Windows/Linux Servers and network applications, including, VMware, MS Exchange, Web hosting, Responsible for managing Local Area Network and Wide Area Network services. Including administration of Juniper, Meraki, and Cisco routers/switches/firewalls/VPN solutions.. Responsible for ensuring overall system security and users understand responsibilities and procedures Responsible for the Business Continuity Policy and Disaster Recovery Plan Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems and escalating problems to vendors. Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation. Responsible for securing Baillie network perimeter using industry best practices Responsible for maintaining and securing remote office and cloud hosted resources through current industry best practices Maintains understanding of practical applications in each area of the company. For example: Sales, Yards, Accounting Develops technical procedures Manages relationships with vendors and service providers Identifies and evaluates new products and relates these to business solutions Performs other related duties System Engineer Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Computer Information Technology (or equivalent) Ideal candidate is located in Central New York State. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred 7+ years hands on technical support positions, with 5 - 7 years working in a Network Administrator and design role. Familiarity with Juniper SRX and EX switches preferred. Install wireless computing networks, cabling, and connections. Knowledge of the installation of internet broadband, including installation and testing of Cat-3/5/5E/6/6A cables, fiber, fiber connectors, patch panels, rack equipment Knowledgeable about TCP/IP protocols, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, and other networking basics. Ability to inspect LAN/WAN infrastructures and troubleshoot issues affecting them. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSE); Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent, CISSP. Experience with managing virtualization environments such as VMware vSphere. Experience with MS Windows Active Directory and Red Hat Linux Enterprise Experience managing MS Exchange Server and SQL Server Experience managing iSCSI SAN Storage and Veeam backup. Experience in common IS technologies -- such as networking, DNS, anti-virus, anti-spam, SMTP, FTP, asset management, VOIP telephony, and VPNs. Experience with Solarwinds for monitoring and management of server and network infrastructure. Experience with BGP/OSPF routing on Juniper platform. Experience supporting OT/ICS Networks preferred Includes occasional travel to locations as needed Effective written and oral communications, including the ability to explain technical concepts and system operations in a manner understood by business users Systems Engineer Pay & Benefits:
