Our client is a growing retail company. They are looking for a
Senior Accountant . Salary/Hourly Rate: $75k - $80k Position Overview: As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of the company's financial activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with a passion for the retail industry. Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Review and post journal entries, and monitor transactions to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, and customer collections.
Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, coordinating with other teams to ensure all financial activities are accurately recorded and reported within set timelines.
Collaborate with the finance team to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis to key stakeholders.
Conduct detailed financial analysis to support decision-making processes, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for cost optimization.
Assist in preparing tax returns and provide support during audits. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and liaise with external tax advisors as needed.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience with full-cycle accounting, including financial reporting and month-end close.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:
Professional and excellent communication skills.
Highly organized, articulate, with strong writing and verbal skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
