Purpose

To assist the Director of Sales & Marketing in the management, coordination, and execution of items related to the marketing and sales operation of the hotel. Responsible for the management and solicitation of designated markets.

In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing, collaborating with the team to launch the hotel's MICE (Group Sales) efforts, positioning The Monarch San Antonio as the city's premier luxury meetings and gathering destination. The ideal candidate will be a creative team player with 5+ years of hotel group sales experience and a proven track record of success. Experience in a luxury 4- or 5-star hotel required.

Essential Functions Responsible for securing groups, gatherings, and conventions by building and establishing relationships with clients to maximize revenues, profits, and market share. This role requires strong sales, communication, and networking skills. The ability to demonstrate a deep understanding of customer needs and then apply a disciplined approach to qualify, negotiate, and secure new revenue for the hotel. Research, solicit, and generate new leads for group opportunities through database research and proactive sales efforts, maximizing new room revenue streams, to meet and exceed lead generation goals. Represent the hotel in the development of market segment(s) and new customer relationships while maintaining existing relations with assigned accounts. Develop a business strategy by analyzing historical, current, and future hotel and market trends, implementing marketing initiatives to capture the maximum amount of lead revenue to meet and exceed sales goals. Customer and Account Management - Apply strong sales skills to create customer value. Differentiate the hotel from the competition and bring clear value to customers and the organizations they represent. Demonstrate a mastery of the prospecting process. Research, solicit, and generate new leads for business opportunities through database research and proactive sales efforts, maximizing new room revenue to exceed lead generation and revenue goals. Negotiate contracts and commission agreements with end-user customers and intermediaries. Understand the customer and the business leaders' expectations. Adapt to a changing market. Provide solutions that both achieve and protect the financial goals of the hotel while strengthening relationships with customers. Engage Hilton Worldwide Sales and property to support the contracting process when needed. Actively engage with Hilton Worldwide Sales, Visit San Antonio and Intermediaries to retain existing customers and secure new business for the Hotel. Develop and execute plans to engage in outside sales calls, industry tradeshows and customer events. Develop, execute and communicate a monthly, quarterly and annual business plan for a designated market. Maintain up to date pipeline of business opportunities that will meet the short and long term business objectives for the designated market. Represent the hotel in all interactions dealing with their customers related to sales, including creating business proposals and executing contracts. Conduct site inspections through masterful storytelling with prospective and existing customers based on their individual needs. Coordinate customer specifications (including room, food and beverage and meeting space requirements) via identified lead management system. Enter and maintain pertinent account and booking information in Delphi FDC in accordance with defined standards. Special Skills

Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts. Basic mathematical skills and considerable skills in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error. Ability to listen effectively and to speak English clearly. Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system. Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations. Ability to prepare complex reports. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in order to provide leadership, and delegate where necessary. Ability to travel throughout designated markets in a timely manner. Analytical ability to decipher data and make sound decisions. Strong knowledge of the designated markets. Ability to organize detailed information. Strong leadership skills. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred. Education And Experience

Minimum of four (4) year college degree preferred. A minimum of five (5) years luxury hotel sales experience preferred.
