Cardiac Transplant Stepdown Unit
in
Rochester, NY . This high-acuity setting offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge cardiovascular technology and provide advanced care to complex cardiac patients, including
LVAD therapy
and
heart transplant candidates and recipients .
Schedule Details:
Shift Length:
12-hour shifts
Rotation:
Days/Evenings/Nights
Requirements:
Every Other Weekend (EOW)
Holiday, On-Call, Callback, and Charge
responsibilities per unit needs
Patient Population & Care Environment:
Patients with advanced heart failure
Pre- and post-operative cardiac patients
Heart transplant candidates and recipients
Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) therapy
High acuity unit with complex cardiovascular cases
Strong multidisciplinary collaboration with cardiologists, surgeons, and transplant teams
Job Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage telemetry and cardiovascular status
Administer IV medications and cardiac-specific therapies
Care for patients with invasive lines and monitoring devices
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
Manage complex discharge planning and follow-up care
Required Qualifications:
Active
New York RN License
(NY only)
Minimum
2 years of recent cardiology/stepdown RN experience
Telemetry experience required
Experience with
Swanz-Ganz catheters
preferred
Required Certifications:
BLS
– American Heart Association only
ACLS
– American Heart Association only
