Position Overview
Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client, an aerospace company, is currently seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk for a temporary project role in California. This position focuses on data entry and day-to-day payroll support for 900 employees, primarily based in California, with some multi-state payroll in Washington and remote workers. The project is expected to start around November 1st and end mid-January. Responsibilities
Assist with payroll-related data entry and oversee daily administrative tasks. Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries via Slack and email in a timely and professional manner. Assist with time and attendance tracking, working with software systems such as Deputy (experience preferred, but not required). Help manage and organize new hire documentation and records. Collaborate with payroll staff on tasks such as troubleshooting and assisting with payroll processes, if necessary. Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and regulations, including handling multi-state payrolls. Qualifications
2-3 years of payroll experience, including familiarity with multi-state payroll (California and Washington preferred). Strong organizational and data entry skills, with high accuracy and attention to detail. Experience with payroll software and time/attendance systems. Knowledge of payroll compliance, employee onboarding documentation, and payroll workflows. Ability to work independently and collaborate in a fast-paced environment. Required Work Hours
Monday to Friday, with availability for roughly 40 hours per week, though this may vary slightly based on workload. Benefits
