Job Title and Overview Payroll Clerk – Temporary Role (Project 11/1 to mid‑January) at Ledgent Finance & Accounting for an aerospace client. Focus: data entry and day‑to‑day payroll support for 900 employees (primarily California, some Washington, remote workers).

Compensation Pay range: $25.00/hr – $30.00/hr (based on experience).

Schedule Monday–Friday, roughly 40 hours per week (may vary slightly based on workload).

Responsibilities

Assist with payroll‑related data entry and oversee daily administrative tasks.

Respond to employee payroll inquiries via Slack and email in a timely and professional manner.

Assist with time and attendance tracking, using software such as Deputy (experience preferred but not required).

Help manage and organize new‑hire documentation and records.

Collaborate with payroll staff on troubleshooting and supporting payroll processes as needed.

Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and regulations, including multi‑state payrolls.

Qualifications

2‑3 years of payroll experience, including familiarity with multi‑state payroll (California and Washington preferred).

Strong organizational and data‑entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.

Experience with payroll software and time/attendance systems.

Knowledge of payroll compliance, employee onboarding documentation, and payroll workflows.

Ability to work independently and collaborate in a fast‑paced environment.
