Overview

Electrical Aircraft Technician role at Gauss Management Research & Engineering (GMRE Inc.). This position is day shift and may be eligible for per-diem based on GSA.gov standards. GMRE is a small veteran owned company. We are an equal opportunity employer. Responsibilities

Troubleshoots, inspects, removes, installs, repairs, modifies, overhauls, and operates aircraft electrical systems, components, and associated support equipment. Performs maintenance and modifications on assigned aircraft using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and other test support equipment. Operationally checks all systems, sub-systems, and associated line replaceable unit (LRU) removal and installation. Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment. Requirements

Troubleshoots, inspects, removes, installs, repairs, modifies, overhauls, and operates aircraft electrical systems, components, and associated support equipment. Recommends methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance. Knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles relating to electrical systems; understanding of maintenance directives. Ability to interpret symbols in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics. Must have the ability to properly handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials. Required Skills/Abilities

Minimum of five (5) years total electrical experience in Fighter/Attack/Bomber (preferably F-16) aircraft maintenance as an electrician. Experience working with aircraft wiring; installing Avionics system modifications by routing, terminating 10/100 and Gig Ethernet wiring, copper wires, primary power wires, Coaxial wires, shielded twisted pairs/triplets, and possibly triaxial wires/connectors. Security Clearance Requirements

Must have ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government security investigation. Driving or renting a car for company business is expected with some frequency. A valid driver’s license is required. Physical Requirements

Normal color vision as defined by GMRE, with a passing score of 75% or greater. Medical Examinations and Standards is mandatory for this specialty. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Travel Required

Occasional travel – you may be expected to travel for meetings, trainings, and/or site visits.
