Electrical Aircraft Technician

We are seeking a day shift electrical aircraft technician who may be eligible for per-diem based on GSA.gov standards. The technician will perform maintenance and modifications on assigned aircraft using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and other test support equipment.

Job Summary

Perform maintenance and modifications on assigned aircraft.

Operationally check all systems, sub-systems, and associated line replaceable unit (LRU) removal and installation.

Interpret and advise on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, inspect, remove, install, repair, modify, overhaul, and operate aircraft electrical systems, components, and associated support equipment.

Recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance.

Apply knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles relating to electrical systems, concepts, and application of maintenance directives.

Interpret the meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.

Properly handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.

Education and Experience

Minimum of five (5) years total electrical experience in Fighter/Attack/Bomber (preferably F‑16) aircraft maintenance as an electrician.

Experience working with aircraft wiring; installing avionics system modifications by routing, terminating 10/100 and Gig Ethernet wiring, copper wires, primary power wires, coaxial wires, shielded twisted pairs/triplets, and possibly triaxial wires/connectors.

Security Clearance Requirements

Must be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government security investigation.

Driving or renting a car for company business is expected with some frequency; a valid driver’s license is required.

Physical Requirements

Normal color vision with a passing score of 75% or greater.

Medical examinations and standards are mandatory for this specialty.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Travel Required

Occasional travel for meetings, trainings, and/or site visits.
