Aircraft Quality Control Inspector – DEA Program – Fort Worth, TX
This position ensures compliance with FAA regulations and quality control standards by inspecting, verifying, and documenting aircraft and engine maintenance events, performing leak tests, and maintaining accurate records in line with the DEA program.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect and verify proper completion and documentation of aircraft maintenance events and discrepancies, including alterations and repairs, serviceable and unserviceable tags.
Verify currency and applicability of maintenance manuals, inspection guides, ICA’s, AD’s, Service Bulletins, drawings, engineering data, onboard aircraft operation manuals, aircraft registration, and airworthiness certificates.
Brief aircrew of inspections, repairs, and open discrepancies prior to maintenance check flights.
Inspect and verify proper completion and documentation of engine maintenance events, including inspections, repairs, and overhauls.
Prepare maintenance, inspection, repair, and alteration documents to include aircraft and engine maintenance entries, FAA Form 8130‑3, and FAA Form 337.
Perform fixed‑wing aircraft engine leak and operational checks, including aircraft taxi.
Perform receiving inspections of incoming parts and components and verify accompanying documentation.
Enter inspection findings into database to determine trending issues.
Ensure safety requirements are paramount within the Repair Station operations and maintain familiarity with all FAR’s required to operate an FAA Repair Station.
Participate in general housekeeping and FOD control activities as required.
Able to work any assigned shift or schedule outside normal duty hours and to travel as required.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Must hold a valid FAA certificate with both Airframe and Power Plant ratings, plus an Inspection Authorization (IA).
Must possess a thorough knowledge of aircraft maintenance.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a quality control program at the level of making airworthiness decisions.
Must communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
Must hold and maintain an in‑force valid driver’s license.
Must be familiar with the type of customer’s designated aircraft for which you have responsibility, with formal training preferred.
Must be computer literate.
Experience with both fixed and rotary wing, reciprocating and turbine engines is desired.
Pentagon 2000 SQL and/or IBM Maximo experience is desired.
Physical Demands Employees frequently sit and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally, they must stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employees may lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds.
Work Environment Work is performed in an environmentally controlled shop and may involve an aircraft hangar with good ventilation. Employees may encounter outside weather conditions such as hot, cold, rain, wind, and extremes. Work requires exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and potential electrical shock. Personal protective equipment—eye protection, ear protection, hand protection, respirators, masks, aprons, leather safety shoes, steel‑toe shoes, fall protection harness, and other equipment—is required as needed.
