Position Overview Novelis Oswego has an exciting opportunity for a Product Engineer focused on material trial work. Primary responsibilities include providing technical support to the Sheet Groups and Oswego Works manufacturing units, leading product‑related quality plans, communicating customer information throughout the entire Oswego facility, and participating in product/process equipment development projects.
Responsibilities
Lead plant trial efforts through the Oswego facility.
Communicate and coordinate successful execution of metal trials within Oswego plant.
Follow the processing of multiple trials working closely with plant and corporate technical resources, supply chain, and operations.
Take direction on prioritization from the NNA Trial Governance Committee and work with plant teams to accomplish specified trial objectives.
Work with trial requestors and plant resources to ensure trial feasibility before materials are requested.
Ensure that detailed trial plans are documented and in place.
Work with product engineering teams and plant engineering resources to ensure products are correctly set up in plant systems.
Communicate trial demand requirements with AMS and plant planning resources to ensure correct demand is being observed.
Troubleshoot demand signal and material master data issues.
Coordinate with necessary parties to make sure all aspects of trial plan are followed.
Keep accurate trial records for end‑of‑year R&D tax credit initiatives.
Communicate trial progress to all involved parties.
Provide technical support to Sheet Product Groups.
Conduct detailed customer requirement analysis.
Develop new Product Masters.
Participate in defect analysis and problem resolution.
Perform data analysis and interpretation.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field.
Ability to communicate and collaborate within teams and with customers.
Preferred Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Material Science/Metallurgical Engineering.
5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.

This role’s salary at a TCP Level I starts from $75,000 per year.
Location Profile Novelis Oswego is located in northern Central New York on the shores of Lake Ontario and employs approximately 1200 people. The Oswego plant produces more than one billion pounds of high‑quality aluminum sheet each year serving customers in the automotive, beverage can, and specialty markets.
