We are partnering with a family‑run agricultural operation looking to bring on a full‑time Controller. This person will take full ownership of financial strategy, accounting processes, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. This role will work closely with ownership and senior leadership to drive financial performance, manage risk, and enable continued business growth. The position is located in the greater Fresno area.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions
Develop and manage annual budgets, cash flow projections, and financial forecasts
Analyze financial results and provide insights to inform strategic decisions
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Manage relationships with banks, auditors, insurance providers, and external accountants
Lead cost accounting and inventory tracking for agricultural operations
Support business expansion, financing, and capital investment planning
Ensure tax compliance, grant reporting, and internal controls
Implement and improve financial systems and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel models, farm management software)
Oversee payroll, vendor management, and other key financial operations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA/CPA preferred)
5–10+ years of relevant financial leadership experience (Controller or CFO level)
Prior experience in agriculture, farming, food production, or a related industry highly preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, and cost accounting
Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Ag‑specific systems)
High integrity, strong communication skills, and solid business acumen
Ability to thrive in a hands‑on, fast‑moving, small‑team environment
