Position Overview The Purchasing & Estimating Specialist plays a key role in ensuring accurate job costing, vendor compliance, and seamless procurement operations within Brandon Homes’ BuilderTrend system. This position requires a blend of analytical, operational, and technical skill to maintain the integrity of our quoting, purchasing, and cost‑control systems.

The ideal candidate will be detail‑oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working within a fast‑paced homebuilding environment where precision and process matter.

Key Responsibilities Estimating & Quoting

Develop, manage, and maintain accurate cost estimates for all home models, options, and custom upgrades.

Configure and continuously refine the

BuilderTrend Quoting Engine

to ensure pricing accuracy, option logic, and client proposal consistency.

Collaborate with the sales and design teams to align option selections, allowances, and scope of work with estimating data.

Analyze cost trends, supplier pricing, and production feedback to maintain competitive and accurate budgets.

Purchasing & Procurement

Generate and issue purchase orders (POs) through

BuilderTrend , ensuring alignment with current approved budgets and specifications.

Maintain vendor and supplier pricing databases and update cost codes within BuilderTrend as needed.

Negotiate pricing and terms with trades and suppliers in coordination with leadership.

Manage release of POs and ensure all purchase activity aligns with company budgets, timelines, and job cost tracking.

Invoice & PO Compliance

Review and approve bills for compliance to purchase orders within BuilderTrend.

Verify quantities, pricing, and scopes on invoices before approval for payment.

Identify and resolve discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders to maintain cost integrity.

Work collaboratively with Accounting and Construction to resolve billing disputes or missing documentation.

BuilderTrend Administration

Serve as the BuilderTrend purchasing and estimating administrator, ensuring the platform reflects current workflows and standards.

Configure templates, cost codes, and assemblies within BuilderTrend to streamline quoting and purchasing.

Train and support internal users on BuilderTrend purchasing and estimating processes.

Partner with leadership to enhance automation, reporting, and visibility within BuilderTrend for cost and purchasing analytics.

Qualifications

Experience in residential construction purchasing, estimating, or related field.

Strong understanding of homebuilding cost structures, vendor management, and PO/invoice processes.

Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Proficient in Excel and data‑driven estimating or procurement tools.

Experience with BuilderTrend is a plus.

Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with operations, field teams, and accounting.
