Responsibilities

Key Projects and Responsibilities:

As a Buyer/Planner Intern, you will have the chance to make an impact through the following projects:

Project #1: Inventory management

- Take part in inventory tracking, audits, analysis, and the implementation of strategies for inventory reduction and optimization.

Project #2: Analyzing data between SAP and our WMS systems

- Collect, compare, and analyze inventory and order data between SAP and the Warehouse Management System. Support standardization and discrepancy resolution to ensure accurate, real-time inventory visibility.

Project #3: Issuing POs to suppliers

- Issue purchase orders to suppliers, maintain accurate records, ensure timely order confirmations and deliveries, and coordinate with suppliers to meet production and inventory needs.

Other Daily Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate computer records for supplier data, effective dates, and related entries. Coordinate parts and materials availability with production scheduling, suppliers, engineering, and quality assurance teams. Develop and manage inventory planning and scheduling methods to achieve Customer Service and Inventory Reduction Objectives. Implement and refine methods such as KanBan, JIT, Vendor Managed Inventory, Demand Flow Technology, supply agreements, and Demand Driven KanBan to continuously improve Materials Planning performance.

Education:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Operations & Supply Chain or Business Administration (preferred). Skills and Abilities:

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in computer use. Experience with SAP is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform tasks involving extended periods of sitting, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending, and minimal lifting.
