Koniag Information Technology Services (KITS), a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an Operations Support Specialist I to support our Army customer in Huntsville, Alabama. This position requires on-site presence in Huntsville, Alabama.

The Operations Support Specialist I will be responsible for supporting the alignment of activities with Army priorities and efficient operations within the DCS G-2/6(CIO) directorate. This on-site role will focus on providing support for planning, execution, and tracking of Army Materiel Command's (AMC) critical activities within the DCS G-2/6(CIO) directorate. The ideal candidate will have experience with Army operations, task management, and policy analysis in a junior capacity.

Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Support planning, execution, and tracking of AMC's critical activities

Assist in analyzing Army orders (WARNORDs, EXORDs, OPORDs, FRAGOs)

Support translation of orders into actionable staff tasks

Help identify relevant equities across Intelligence, Security, C4, IT/IM, and Cyber Defense

Support tools for task capture, tracking, and reporting under supervision

Assist in order dissemination throughout the organization

Support efforts to achieve 95% accuracy in identifying mission area equities within 24 hours of receipt

Help ensure successful staffing and publication of 95% of orders within established timelines

Use the Army's Task Management Tool (TMT), Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat Professional

Support task management throughout their lifecycle - from initiation to completion

Assist in maintaining 95% accuracy of task status in TMT with weekly updates

Support the development of additional task management tools as directed

Assist in planning and execution of internal and external battle rhythm events

Help maintain the DCS G-2/6(CIO) Integrated Operations Calendar (IOC) with 90% accuracy

Support coordination of event logistics including scheduling, facilities, and support requirements

Identify potential scheduling conflicts and report them to leadership

Contribute to maintaining 90% IOC accuracy (verified monthly)

Assist in coordinating at least 95% of scheduled events

Support policy analysis related to Intelligence, Security, C4, IT/IM, and Cyber Defense

Help analyze DOD, HQDA, and Command policies for impact on the DCS G-2/6(CIO)

Assist in the development and maintenance of a five-year strategy and annual plan

Support the development and maintenance of an Annual Operating Cycle (AOC)

Help prepare Planning Analysis and Recommendations for key decision forums

Support Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and Business Case Analysis (BCA) processes

Assist in delivering requested analysis within 3 business days

Support delivery of revised five-year strategy and annual plan by December 30th

Education and Experience:

Required:

Associate's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Information Technology, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred

1-2 years of experience in military operations support, staff coordination, or related role

Basic experience with Army task management systems and processes

Familiarity with military order processing

Basic knowledge of policy analysis and planning

Required Skills and Competencies:

Basic understanding of Army operations and staff processes

Familiarity with Army orders (WARNORDs, EXORDs, OPORDs, FRAGOs)

Basic proficiency with Army's Task Management Tool (TMT)

Competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Professional

Basic knowledge of battle rhythm management and coordination

Ability to assist in analyzing orders and identifying tasks

Good organizational skills for event planning support

Experience supporting calendar management

Basic understanding of DOD, HQDA, and Command policies

Familiarity with Intelligence, Security, C4, IT/IM, and Cyber Defense domains

Basic experience supporting planning processes

Ability to prepare clear, basic analysis and documentation

Strong attention to detail

Good written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks under supervision

Experience supporting cross-organizational coordination

Basic problem-solving skills

Ability to meet deadlines and performance metrics

Understanding of basic military terminology and structure

Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances

Willingness to work on-site in Huntsville, Alabama

Desired Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

Military experience or familiarity with military environments

Experience supporting G-2/6 or CIO organizations

Basic knowledge of Army Materiel Command operations

Familiarity with strategic communications support

Basic understanding of Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) methodology

Familiarity with Business Case Analysis (BCA) concepts

Experience supporting briefing preparation

Basic project or program support experience

Understanding of basic IT governance processes

Experience supporting leadership administrative needs

Familiarity with Army planning processes

Experience with basic reporting and metrics tracking

Understanding of continuous improvement concepts

Basic knowledge of knowledge management practices

Experience with SharePoint site usage

Familiarity with information security protocols

Interest in developing expertise in Army operations
