Overview Responsibilities include receiving and shipping materials, assisting customers in will call, and maintaining accurate inventory. The role requires reading customer orders and requisitions to determine items to move, gather, or distribute; assembling customer orders; delivering parts to designated areas; and ensuring a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment. The position involves operating within Van Keppel procedures for manifests and bills of lading, and frequently coordinating with multiple departments to support order fulfillment and shipping activities.

Responsibilities

Acknowledges customers as they approach the shipping and receiving area.

Assists customers in will call.

Demonstrates superior customer relations and interdepartmental cooperation skills.

Maintains knowledge and understands products sold by Van Keppel.

Reads customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.

Pulls Parts Sales Orders (PSOs) in assigned order with minimal errors.

Delivers parts to proper areas designated by the PSO.

Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.

Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins by size, type, style, color, or product code.

Files requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items.

Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets, shelving, or conveyors to packing or shipping stations.

Maintains a clean warehouse and work area.

Receives stock and freight shipments.

Marks materials with identifying information.

Replenishes shelf stock.

Packages parts for shipment.

Assists in maintaining inventory accuracy.

Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.

Maintains inventory records and bin counts.

Prepares manifests/bills of lading for materials being shipped according to carrier and company procedures.

Drives vehicle to transport stored items or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.

Always works safely and adheres to all safety policies and procedures.

Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

2+ years of experience in a warehouse

2+ years of experience working with power tools

Forklift certification

2+ years of experience operating material handling equipment

Valid driver’s license – Class E

Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed

Proficiency using computers and software

Excellent attendance
