• Arrive 2 hours before event begins, check in with PSM and/or backstage production staff. • Ensure that programs have arrived; put them in designated position • Unlock lobby doors and house doors when appropriate. Do any needed set up in lobby area. • Communicate effectively with student ushers, backstage staff, and custodians about specific issues for each concert. • Remain in lobby before, during, and after concert to assist patrons and ushers. • At conclusion of concert, lock house and lobby doors, and turn off lobby lights. Dismiss student ushers as necessary. Recycle and/or reorganize programs on shelves. Reset Lobby. Fill out house report.

Must have a flexible schedule in evening hours, preferably available weeknights/weekends.

House managing schedule is made on a semester basis.

Position Summary

The Assistant House Manager (AHM) is responsible assisting the PAC Patron Services Manager (PSM) during PAC season events, house managing performances by Hugh Hodgson School of Music ensembles, as well as some rental performances. The AHM may also be asked to manage the concession stand when the need arises. The AHM is either the sole or one of the front-of-house points of contact for patrons, artists, and ushers during events. The AHM must be confident, well-spoken, and able to work well under pressure. Most of the ushers whom the AHM supervises are students, so he/she/they should be comfortable leading and enforcing rules with his/her/their peers. The AHM will be trained on all responsibilities, including emergency procedures and usher expectations. Most events are on weekday evenings with a call time of 5:30pm, as well as occasional weekend events and a few morning children's concerts. Shifts typically run in 4-5-hour increments and are based on event schedule (some weeks are busier than others). All shifts will be at the UGA Performing Arts Center with an occasional shift at the UGA Fine Arts Theatre. Training will begin in Aug/Sept 2025. This is a paid position. Interviews will be conducted in person at the UGA Performing Arts Center.

Training :

• Will be trained on responsibilities by PAC Patron Services Manager.

• Organized; prompt • Ability to work unsupervised • Confident, well-spoken, work well under pressure • Comfortable supervising peers • First aid and CPR training a plus, but not required • Music/Arts/Theatre experience a plus, but not required

** It is preferred that you are not a member of a UGA School of Music ensemble that would interfere with a large amount of the shifts. Depending on the amount of conflicts though, it may be possible to work around them.
