Position Summary As the Finance Manager - Costing and Analysis, you will play a crucial role in managing all financial aspects of product costing across the merchandise retail business. Your contributions will significantly support gross margin performance, vendor negotiations, and monitoring of vendor funding. You will work closely with Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Inventory teams to ensure accurate landed cost assumptions, analyze cost trends, and identify opportunities for margin improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead financial support for cost change impact analysis, focusing on vendor increases and freight changes. Manage vendor cost increases by validating market costs for commodities and making informed costing recommendations to the buying organization, ensuring alignment between Finance, Merchandising, and Supply Chain. Act as a key finance lead during vendor negotiations (Joint Business Planning), providing cost history, scenario modeling, and margin impact assessments. Collaborate with Inventory and Logistics teams on landed cost modeling (freight, duties, handling) and identify areas for cost leakage. Partner with Accounting on month-end close activities related to cost of goods sold (COGS), inventory reserves, and margin variances. Develop and maintain financial models and dashboards to track cost trends, product-level margin performance, and cost savings initiatives. Provide various ad-hoc support across departments, including store-level sales analysis and planning. Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, merchandising teams, and executive stakeholders. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. 5-7 years of experience in FP&A, Cost Accounting, or Category Finance. Strong understanding of retail product costing, COGS, and gross margin analytics. Experience working alongside Merchandising and Supply Chain teams in a retail or CPG environment. Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with forecasting/reporting tools (e.g., BPC, SAP, Alteryx, Power BI).
