Rochester Institute of Technology . This position is at the College of Engineering Technology (CET) in the Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering Technology (MMET) Department, supporting the Mechanical, Mechatronics, and Robotics & Manufacturing Engineering Technology programs.
Position Overview Full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor. Candidates will be expected to teach, publish, and conduct externally funded research in the broad discipline of Mechanical Engineering. Potential areas of interest include thermal fluid science, plastics/polymer engineering, mechanics, and electronics manufacturing, with applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML).
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and laboratories, engaging in curriculum development and student engagement using activity‑based pedagogical strategies.
Conduct research in mechanical engineering and AI/ML, secure external funding, and publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals.
Contribute to the department, college, and university through committee work and other service activities.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Demonstrated knowledge and potential to teach in mechanical engineering technology.
Strong publication record in reputable, peer‑reviewed journals.
Experience with AI/ML tools and frameworks in engineering applications.
Previous experience securing external research funding is highly desirable.
Industrial experience is highly desirable.
Ability to contribute to the growth of biomechatronics, biomechanics, and rehabilitation robotics.

Salary Annual salary range: $95,000 - $105,000.
